A good place to start is checkout the candles she already has. Does she have floral scents, edible scents (vanilla, apple pie, chocolate), relaxing aroma therapy type scents, outdoor scents (beach, mountain lake)? Get something in the same line of what she already has. If in doubt, go with vanilla or floral scents until to you find out what she really likes.
